Scot Neville Family Update

Hello Everyone!

Well after an initial fury of start-up posts we've certainly slacked off posting on the Neville Family Blog. I think it would be good to remind everyone that we established the blog as a replacement for a monthly newsletter. Therefore, it would be nice if we all made a commitment that during the first week of each month we post an update for our families. I hereby post the Scot Neville Family Update for March 2008.

Kim is busy in her Stake Relief Society Presidency including visits to all Ward RS Presidencies and attending ward conferences, planning a Stake Conference Bishops and Wives Dinner, planning a trip to SLC prior to general conference for high level training, and coordinating a weekly Stake Institute class. She's learning lots and likes her Presidency but I believe her heart is still with the youth. With spring in the air Kim is starting to prepare for swim lesson season by sending out her schedules and re-landscaping the back yard (she reminded me that her "office" is the pool area and it needs to reflect her expertise and seniority). During the late night hours and on weekends she's taking some classes to renew her teaching certificate. Of course, Kim's main focus and the joy of her life is her three grandchildren. She takes them to the park, the store, the ranch, and just loves being with them.

Courtney, Griffin, Madison, Bryant, and Brady are settling in as a large family. One of these days we hope Courtney will post photos of Brady. He's growing fast and seems to love all the attention he gets from his older siblings. It was wonderful to attend his baby blessing last weekend and we appreciated the attendance of Mom and Dad and Chris and Cathy. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to have a grandson named after you (Brady Scot Goodman). Courtney and Griffin hosted a dinner for the Nevilles and Goodmans (about 25 in all) at their house Sunday night. They are also enjoying their new black BMW (Big Mormon Wagon) Suburban and love taking various trips in the company airplane. Courtney and the grandkids along with Kim and Tanner are planning to fly to SLC over spring break.

Ryan continues to work at Damage Control and advise his father on the best sushi dishes at Temari's. Recently he's had two wonderful snowboarding trips to SLC and Sunrise and has proclaimed this year as one of the best ever on the slopes. Now Ryan is working hard to get the Devil Boat ready for the wakeboard season and enjoys jam sessions with various friends. He sometimes mentions girls and college but we're not seeing much action yet.

Matt and Allison are doing well at BYU. They love their condo in American Fork and their dog Winny. Allison is winding up her studies and will graduate at the end of April. We're so proud of her! They just got back from a wonderful cruise to Jamaica where they experienced some amazing sights and sounds. The Hinzes will be in St. Louis this summer as Matt manages a large Apex office. He continues to be one of the most successful Apex managers in the country and will graduate in December.

Tanner is enjoying his final semester at Mountain View. He's almost finished with his Duty to God Award and will graduate from Seminary in preparation for his mission this fall. Tanner continues to successfully manage his harem of female admirers and can't get enough of snow and wake boarding. He's decided not to teach swim lessons this summer and is looking for a job.

I'm almost in my sixth year as Bishop and beginning the think the ward needs a change. But the Stake President says I'm a long ways from being released. It's been a wonderful blessing to experience the Gospel of Jesus Christ change and improve lives. My business partners and I are scrambling a bit as we try to survive the slow economic times. Hopefully by 2009 we'll start to see a recovery. Otherwise, Tanner and I will be in the same unemployment line. My escape continues to be ranch at Roosevelt Lake where I can build stuff, fly my powered parachute, fish, and boat with the family.

Well, that's it for this edition. Perhaps members of my immediate family can add to my report and maybe even post some photos. Until next time remember that unless you're living on the edge...you're taking up too much space!

Good job, Scot Neville's, that was a great report and update. So wonderful to read of everyone's activities, etc. Does, this mean, however, that Grandma can only write once a month, that being the first week! Horrors! Tell me t'isn't so as I have now become addicted to the Neville Blog and I finally found something I can do on the computer. Please answer quickly as my hands are beginning to shake and my breath is labored!
